Hello I am Crystal,

Thank you Vermilion Veterinary Clinic for giving our family dog, Rugby, a final hunting season of a life time. This summer our amazing 9 year old hunting Lab Rugby was diagnosed with severe congestive heart failure and the idea of enjoying many hunting openers to come would be cut short. With he fall moving in fast, and the hunting season upon us, this meant that we needed to make the decision if we would hunt him or not. Before the season even began, his puppy charm surfaced and we knew that we had to give him the best fall of his life. With the help of Vermilion Veterinary Clinic in Cook, we were able to keep his body moving and his coughing spells under control. They worked with us and were able to provide a combination of medications that seemed to work well with Rugby’s needs. Grouse season came and he nailed it. Mn duck opener came…he nailed it again. Now the true test, was our annual North Dakota family water fowl opener. We all agreed to make this trip in his honor. My family was so gracious, and when scouting for ponds or fields, they always kept Rugby’s needs in mind. Little did we know Rugby had his own plans. He was a MACHINE! Every pond or field that we set up on, he was more impressive then the one before. He even got a standing ovation when he made his longest water retrieve of his hunting career. Who knows… maybe we will be writing about yet another Rugby adventure next year, stay tuned. Meanwhile, thank you again for the wonderful care and thank you to the amazing staff for continuing to provide this community with guidance and love for our furry family members. Always grateful, Joani and Terry Bergstrom and their families.
