Hello,
This is Brooke from the Evergreen Animal Hospital. I am having trouble reaching you via phone number about a mutual client’s medication. Please try to give us a call at 303-674-4331. Thank you!
I have some issues here. A while back I tried getting my dog ( always a very healthy dog) into this clinic for a wound that wouldn’t heal. They were many weeks out and wouldn’t see her (my dog / my best friend) unless I paid their emergency visit fees. They would not put her on some kind of cancelation list and said I’d have to call every morning to see of there were any cancellations.. i waited and got in after a few weeks. Was given basically no info on the wound but some cream to put on it. A couple months later my dog became ill and also had some suspicious lumps on her. Again. Wait wait unless i would pay for sn emergency visit.. Finally got her in. Was treated for a lymes infection and ran through tests for the lumps. $700 later she was treated for the lymes and I was told that the lump wasn’t cancerous and that she was in good shape. She rebounded some but worsened shortly after. Tried getting her in again to NVC but again, they’d only take her if I paid for an emergency visit. I ended up driving her to an out of area vet who took her in the day after I called them. I was only charged for a regular visit. They immediately diagnosed my dog with cancer and provided some meds to help comfort her as well as advice to help her the best I could. I did what I could since then to make her comfortable but watching her deteriorate was tough. A few days ago when I returned home from work it was clear that she needed to be put down and was in bad shape. As they are close by, I called NVC and was immediately put on hold before I could even give them a reason for the call. I waited on hold for over 10 minutes before I disconnected and tried to find another vet. Fortunately, I was able to contact one who cared enough to help right away. My friend is now at rest and no longer in pain. I’m usually not one to complain about much but after going through this I feel I owe it to my dog (or maybe your animal) to air this experience so you can make an informed decision in relying on the NVC to care for your pet.
